OPEN WATER SWIMMING & PADDLEBOARDING

To make your time at our lakes unforgettable we want to establish the lakes purpose and to ensure safety and enjoyment for all visitors.

The Redwood lake, which is used for open water swimming, doggy swim club, paddle boarding and working dog training, is a spring fed lake with excellent water quality. The lake is just over 3 acres and approx 550m to swim around in a full loop and on average 4-6ft deep.

The lake is lined with puddle clay, found naturally across the whole site, which makes it perfect for plant and aquatic life. The Redwood lake does have a natural dye added to the water. The dye is used yearly to prevent weed blooms and stop predatory birds making a meal out of our fish.

Paddle boarding

Paddle boarding is currently just on a Saturday. We have two 2 hour sessions. 10am-12 and 12-2pm.

You will need your own equipment, including life jackets. You must read the rules fully before arriving.

Paddle boarding takes place in the redwood lake. This is the large lake by the carpark which has buoys in.

The lake is approx 4.5m deep, however does have deeper areas. Please be respectful of the wildlife - especially if the swans are on the water.
